PS4 with a blinking blue light and no picture
The light stays blue, blinks and never turns white, or there is no picture. It is the famous “blue light of death”: in most cases it can be fixed.
What the blue light means on the PS4
The console starts but never finishes booting. It may be the hard drive, the HDMI port, the power supply or, most often on older consoles, a solder fault under the processor (APU).
What to try before bringing it in
Try another HDMI cable and another TV input, and unplug it for a few minutes. If nothing changes, don’t open it or keep turning it on: the board damage can get worse.
Diagnosis and lab reballing
We check the hard drive, HDMI and power supply and, if the fault is on the board, we do the processor reballing with lab equipment. We give you a quote first. More information in the PS4 repair; if it doesn’t turn on at all, see PS4 won’t turn on.

Frequently asked questions
Can the PS4 blue light be fixed?
In most cases, yes. It depends on which part failed: that is why the diagnosis comes first.
What is reballing?
It means redoing the solder joints between the processor and the board when heat has damaged them. It is done with lab equipment.
Does the diagnosis cost anything?
No: the diagnosis is free, except for “won’t turn on”, power supply or processor reballing faults, which require working on the board. In those cases we give you a quote before starting.
What warranty does the repair have?
1 month on maintenance and 3 months on micro-electronics and board repairs. If the same fault comes back, it is fixed free of charge.
Where is the workshop?
At Pedernera 360, Flores, City of Buenos Aires. Open Monday to Friday 10 am–6 pm and Saturdays 9 am–3 pm.
