Online audio test: check your microphone, speakers and headphones
Check in seconds whether your microphone picks up your voice and whether your speakers or headphones sound right on both sides.
How to use the audio test
1. Microphone
Press “Test microphone”, allow access and speak: the bar should move. With “Record 5 s and play back” you hear how others hear you.
2. Speakers or headphones
Press “Left”, “Right” and “Both”: each sound must come only from the side shown.
3. Low-to-high sweep
It runs through every tone: if the sound cuts out or buzzes at some point, the speaker may be damaged.
Most common audio problems
The microphone picks up nothing
Check that it is not muted, that the browser has permission and that you picked the right device in the list.
Sound only on one side
It is usually the headphone plug or cable, or the device’s audio jack. Try another headset to rule it out.
Noise, crackling or echo
It may be a worn cable or a fault in the audio board. At MBTECNIC we check the audio jack of controllers, laptops and PCs.
