Your console won’t read or eject discs
You insert the game and it isn’t recognised, reads only partly, makes noise or the disc gets stuck inside. It is the disc drive, and it can be repaired.
Why the console won’t read discs
It may be a dirty or worn laser, the mechanism that moves the disc or the drive board. If it makes loud noises while spinning, it is best to stop using it.
What to try first
Try another clean, unscratched disc. If the disc is stuck, don’t force it out: the mechanism can be damaged.
Disc drive repair
We check the mechanism, laser and board and, depending on the diagnosis, we clean, adjust or replace the part. We repair the drives of the PS4, PS5, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
How we work
The workshop is at Pedernera 360, Flores, Buenos Aires. We check the device, explain what is wrong and what the fix is before starting. The warranty is 1 month on maintenance and 3 months on board repairs. If the same fault comes back, we fix it free of charge. To get started, message us with the model and the fault.
Frequently asked questions
Can just the laser be replaced?
It depends on the model and the fault. The diagnosis tells us whether the laser is enough or another part must be replaced.
Will I lose my digital games?
No. Downloaded games and saves are not touched when repairing the disc drive.
Does the diagnosis cost anything?
No: the diagnosis is free, except for “won’t turn on”, power supply or processor reballing faults, which require working on the board. In those cases we give you a quote before starting.
What warranty does the repair have?
1 month on maintenance and 3 months on micro-electronics and board repairs. If the same fault comes back, it is fixed free of charge.
Where is the workshop?
At Pedernera 360, Flores, City of Buenos Aires. Open Monday to Friday 10 am–6 pm and Saturdays 9 am–3 pm.
