PS5 CONTROLLER TEST (DUALSENSE)

How to connect the DualSense to a PC

The easiest way is a USB-C cable that carries data (some only charge). To use it wirelessly, put your PC in Bluetooth pairing mode and hold the PS button and the Create button (the small one left of the touchpad) together for about 3 seconds, until the blue light blinks quickly; then pick “DualSense Wireless Controller” in the list. Open this page and press any button: the tester recognizes it instantly.

Testing it on Android or iPhone

On Android, pair the controller via Bluetooth the same way (PS + Create) or plug it in with a USB-C OTG adapter, and open the page in Chrome. iPhone and iPad with iOS 14.5 or later support the DualSense: pair it in Settings › Bluetooth and open the tester in Safari. If the phone is already connected to another controller, unpair it first so the readings don’t get mixed up.

Common PS5 controller faults

The most common is stick drift: your character walks on its own because the stick doesn’t return to the center; in the tester it shows as a value other than 0 with the stick released. You may also see L2/R2 triggers that don’t reach 100%, buttons you have to press hard, a D-pad that fails in one direction and a loose USB-C port that stops charging. Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback depend on the game; here you test the trigger travel and the motors.

If your DualSense fails, we repair it

In Argentina we repair PS5 controllers at our workshop in Flores, Buenos Aires: stick replacement for drift, triggers, buttons, ribbon cables and the USB-C charging port. We check it with this same tester before and after the repair. See our PS4 and PS5 controller repair.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with the DualSense Edge?

Yes. The DualSense Edge is tested just like the regular DualSense; the back paddles appear as extra buttons when the browser reports them.

Why doesn’t my PC detect the PS5 controller?

Try another USB-C cable (many only charge), another port, or pair it again via Bluetooth with PS + Create. Then press a button with the page open.

How much drift is normal on a DualSense?

With the stick released, less than 0.05 on each axis. If it reads 0.10 or more, or the value moves on its own, there is drift.

Can I test the adaptive triggers?

The browser can’t control the adaptive trigger resistance, but it does show their travel from 0% to 100%, which is what fails when a trigger is damaged.
